by Chris "Pip the Intern" Holt For you racing fans out there, TrackMania Nations Forever, the sequel to the popular online racing title, is now available for free download on Steam. For you non-racing fans, Steam itself is free, so why don’t you see if maybe you really are a racing fan after all? In addition to the new version of Trackmania, Trackmania United Forever is also available for download on Steam for $39.95. Come to think of it, that’s not a bad price either. The sequel to TrackMania will allow players to compete online, challenge their friends (in the game, not in a general way), and engage in some pretty deep single player racing as well. There is a new stunt mode available in addition to solo ranking medals you can unlock as you progress. There are lots of maps and variations on standard racetracks to keep you on your toes and let you fine-tune your racing prowess before you compete against the world. The visuals are pretty impressive too, way beyond what you’d usually expect for freeware.
