Killzone 3 gets due date: Feb. 2011

We have a date for when those creepy sithlord-looking Helghast freaks will be back in your gunsights – Feb. 22 is Killzone 3’s official release date for North America.

The announcement for the release of Sony’s premiere 3D title – the graphical angle they’re pushing for the PS3 – was posted on the Playstation Blog, and an 8-on-8 multiplayer demo is being shown off at the Penny Arcade Expo this weekend. Beta testing on the game went up earlier this month.

The single player demo offered at San Diego Comic Con 2010 didn’t offer much in the way of innovation outside of playing Killzone 3 in 3D, but Guerilla and Sony have dropped a spiffy multiplayer trailer, which is where Killzone usually shines anyway.

One thing’s for sure, regardless of where you stand on 3D – Killzone 3 sets a standard for violent eye candy. That alone is enough to raise excitement for February.
